Volunteer Policies and Agreement
We commit to:
- Provide orientation and training for your specific volunteer role and supervision while completing tasks.
- Have a designated point-person for any questions you have regarding your schedule and tasks.
- Contact you in a timely manner regarding changes to your schedule and tasks.
- Provide a safe work environment.
- Keep your personal information confidential
We expect you to:
- Assist the Milk Bank to fulfill its mission of accepting, pasteurizing, and dispensing donor human milk.
- Perform you volunteer tasks to the best of your ability.
- Follow directions given to you by Milk Bank staff and ask questions if those directions are unclear.
- Follow all safety, health, and confidentiality procedures.
- Use your Volunteer Impact account to sign up for shifts and keep track of your hours.
- Contact the Milk Bank via phone, email, or Volunteer Impact at least 24 hours before canceling a shift.
The Mothers’ Milk Bank of Alabama reserves the right to dismiss a volunteer in the event that we are unable to satisfactorily resolve concerns about the volunteer’s reliability, performance, safety, or any other issue. By signing this agreement, you confirm that you have read and will abide by these expectations.
COVID-19 UPDATE: We require all volunteers to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at all times when in our facility. Upon entering the building, all volunteers must consent to a thermal temperature check. This will require no physical contact. Volunteers are expected to follow all updated procedures when in the building and MMBAL staff commits to ensuring the safety of volunteers at all times.
