Confidentiality Agreement

By completing this ESS Volunteer Application, I agree that I will hold in confidence the identities of persons using the service of the City of Vernon Emergency Program and Emergency Support Services (ESS).

Information will only be shared with the Emergency Program Coordinator or ESS Coordinator, and with team members whose duties require them to be in a ‘need to know’ position. Without there being a ‘need to know’ situation, no information will be divulged to any other person.

I also agree that if approached by any member of the media, I will not report on any operations, but will direct them to the Information Officer if available, or to the City of Vernon Emergency Program Coordinator, Reception Centre or Group Lodging Manager.

I agree to respect and keep in strict confidence any information that I obtain regarding the City of Vernon Emergency Program, its staff, volunteers or evacuees.

If there is a breach of this Confidentiality Agreement, I understand that my involvement with the City of Vernon ESS and Emergency Program may be terminated. If serious enough, I understand that there may be an investigation and further action by any related or appropriate agencies.
