Thank you for your interest in applying to the Recreation & Culture volunteer program.
- You must be at least 14 years old to apply.
- Applications are processed throughout the year for a variety of positions as they become available.
- Applicants are invited to an interview based on their qualifications, their experience, and the number of positions become available.
- Please Note: We thank all those that apply; application submission does not guarantee a volunteer position. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
References:
- Applicants can upload 2 x Letter of References when applying, or later in the application process (once acquired).

- Employer, volunteer placement, coach, mentor, teacher or instructor, friend of the family (please do not use a family member).

- Letter must include:
- How long Reference has known volunteer applicant (Ideally 2 or more years).
- Reference's relationship to volunteer applicant
- Reference's comment on volunteer applicant's character
- Reference's comment on the volunteer applicant's work or study ethic (if applicable), or skills
- Reference's description and comment on job and/or tasks that the volunteer applicant completed during their association with the Reference.
- Reference's phone number and email for follow-up
Criminal Record Checks:
- Applicants ages 14-17 are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for a Criminal Record Check to have ready if invited to interview.
- It can take up to 4 weeks for Halton Region Police Service to process a police records check.
- Applicants age 18+ require a Vulnerable Sector Check to have ready if invited to interview.
- It can take up to 4 weeks for Halton Region Police Service to process a police records check.
Please note: Applications from outside of the Milton municipal boundaries are not being accepted at this point in time, as there continues to be more applications than volunteer positions available. Priority is assigned to Milton residents. Any non-resident applications will be deactivated until further notice.
