Telephone Support Application - Distress Line & TeleConnect
Program Summary:
Telephone Support is a volunteer program designed to support community members who are isolated and/or experiencing distress through the processes of telephone. Volunteers within the program will engage with a diverse group of community members whose challenges may range from having a bad day where they require emotional support to being in a state of crisis and requiring emergency intervention.
This opportunity is best suited for those interested in health care, social service, and the criminal justice fields of work.
Program Training:
The training to become a volunteer consists of self-learning modules, group training, and 1 on 1 training with a staff member. It is a multi-stage approach designed to support all types of learners.
Upon completion of your application you will be able to immediately begin the self-learning modules. These must be completed in order to be eligible in attending the group training.
