Core Volunteer Registration

Commitment

• I agree to volunteer for a minimum of six months, completing at least one two-hour shift per week.
• I agree to remove myself from the schedule if I am unable to attend a shift.
• I agree to sign in and track my volunteer hours using the volunteer portal, MyImpact.
• I agree to review announcements (emailed and/or posted on MyImpact) before my shift so I am aware of any policy or procedure updates.

Conduct and Cat Care

• I agree to follow Simply Cats policies and procedures and to complete my tasks as instructed.
• I agree to review and follow posted signage throughout the building.
• I agree to use hand sanitizer before and between adoption rooms to prevent the spread of disease.
• I agree to treat all cats and kittens with kindness and respect, encouraging good behavior and confidence.
• I agree to pay attention to feline body language and respect each cat’s boundaries, avoiding unwanted contact or pulling cats from hiding spots.
• I agree to follow staff and coordinator guidance when handling cats.
• I agree not to feed cats without approval from the Volunteer Coordinator; treats are allowed only with permission.

Guest Policy

• I agree not to bring anyone with me to my volunteer shift unless they have registered and been approved as a volunteer.

Safety and Reporting

• I agree to notify Simply Cats if I am injured during a volunteer shift.
• I agree to wear my name badge while volunteering.

Confidentiality and Communication

• I agree to keep organizational and donor information confidential.
• I agree not to share personal information about volunteers, staff, or donors.
• I agree to raise concerns or complaints directly with the Volunteer Coordinator or Executive Director rather than posting them publicly.

Liability and Insurance

• I understand that my volunteer work is charitable and voluntary, and I will not receive compensation of any kind.
• I understand Simply Cats volunteers are covered under the organization’s general liability insurance for claims against me arising from duties performed within the scope of my volunteer role. This insurance does not cover personal injury.
• I understand that if I drive while performing volunteer duties, I am responsible for maintaining my own automobile insurance. Simply Cats does not provide automobile insurance, nor does it cover vehicle damage.
• I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Simply Cats from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from my participation as a volunteer (including injury from cat scratches or bites, transporting, medicating, or handling cats).
