Volunteer Policies and Agreements
To be considered an active VOLT Volunteer who is eligible to log volunteer hours and work towards earning VOLT Recognition, I understand that...
- I must be enrolled at Langara in a minimum of one course in the semester of participation/logging my hours. This means that if I take a semester off and continue volunteering, I am not authorized to log those hours earned while I am not a current student.
- I am responsible for applying for any/all volunteer opportunities, logging my hours and requesting approval of hours from my volunteer supervisor.
- I have one academic semester to have my hours verified by my volunteer supervisor. Any unverified hours logged in Better Impact will be deleted after one academic semester.
- If I cease to be enrolled at Langara, my VOLT account will be archived and I will not be able to continue logging hours until I register in another semester at Langara. I'm responsible to notify volt@langara.ca to reactivate MyImpact account when I resume my enrollment at Langara College.
- Volunteer hours conducted off-campus must be completed with not-for-profit, charitable and public service organizations to be eligible for VOLT. Unpaid work for a for-profit company is not eligible for VOLT hours recognition.
- Volunteer hours conducted on-campus can be completed with a student club, student program, event or activity hosted by a service or academic department to be eligible for VOLT.
- I must abide by Langara's Policies, including but not limited to:
- D410 - Respectful Learning and Working Environment
- B3009 - Sexual Violence or Misconduct
- E1003 - Standards of Student Conduct
