Release Agreement for Volunteer Services
I, {applicant}, hereinafter referred to as the Volunteer, request that the City of Abilene and the Abilene Zoological Society allow me to participate as a Volunteer providing volunteer services to the City of Abilene and the Abilene Zoological Society.
The consideration involved in participating in the volunteer program is that the volunteer gain practical experience, skill and knowledge regarding conservation of animal and plant species and the habitats that sustain said species.
The volunteer hereby understands and agrees that he/she will not receive any form of compensation or remuneration of these services. The volunteer also understands and agrees that he/she is not entitled to any benefits from the City of Abilene or the Abilene Zoological Society including, but not limited to, health or life insurance, worker's compensation benefits, or unemployment benefits, any claim to such benefit or compensation being expressly waived by the volunteer, his/her heirs, executors or assignees. The volunteer further agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend the City of Abilene and the Abilene Zoological Society, and their officers, agents, and employees, from and against liability for any and all claims, liens, suits, demands, and/or action for damages, injuries to persons (including death), property damage (including loss of use), and expenses (including court costs and attorney's fees), and other reasonable costs arising out of or resulting from the volunteer’s services provided in connection with or incidental to this negligence, including all such causes of action based upon common, constitutional or statutory law, or based in whole or in part upon the negligent or intentional acts or omissions of the volunteer, including but not limited to his/her heirs, executors or assigns.
The Volunteer understands and agrees that the City of Abilene and the Abilene Zoological Society may discontinue the Volunteer’s service at any time with no prior or written notice.
By clicking the button that I have read and agree to the Release Agreement for Volunteer form, the Volunteer hereby warrants that he/she has read and understands the release/agreement and that it constitutes the only basis for the Volunteer’s services being provided and there are no other agreements of any kind relating to services provided by the Volunteer. Volunteer understands that this release/agreement does not constitute an employment contract or relationship between the City of Abilene or the Abilene Zoological Society and the Volunteer. The Volunteer and/or Parent/guardian's signatures are affixed hereto of his/her own free will without any inducement or reliance on any person or promise. The Volunteer and/or Parent/Guardian further warrants that he/she is of legal age and legally competent to execute this release/agreement.
