There will be forms to complete and sign later in this application. When filling in your name on those forms, please use your first and last legal name and not initials or a nickname.

Acknowledgement of Guide to Volunteering
I have received the University of the District of Columbia, College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences (UDC-CAUSES) Guide to in electronic and/or paper form. I hereby acknowledge the following:
- I understand the Guide contains important information about UDC-CAUSES’ policies and my rights.
- I understand I am expected to read the Guide, familiarize myself with its contents, and understand the policies that apply to me.
- I understand that the policies and procedures in the Guide may be changed at the sole discretion of UDC-CAUSES at any time.
- I understand that the most current version of the Guide replaces any and all prior Guide and policies of the UDC-CAUSES volunteer program.
- I understand that UDC-CAUSES is an “at-will” agency and as such my volunteer service with UDC-CAUSES is not for a fixed term or definite period and may be terminated at the will of either me as the Volunteer or UDC-CAUSES with or without cause, and with or without notice.
- I understand that nothing in the Guide or any other policy or procedure may be construed as creating a contract of volunteering or a promise of future benefits with UDC-CAUSES.
- If I have questions regarding this Guide, I will bring them to the attention on of the Volunteer Coordinator.
Important note: This application is for those who would like to get started volunteering with UDC-CAUSES; however, if you are interested in becoming a DC Master Gardener or DC Master Naturalist, there is a separate application process and criteria.
