Welcome to Empower Work’s volunteer Peer Counselor Application! We’re excited that you’re interested in volunteering with us. Let's cover some basics before we get started.
Who We Are
Empower Work is a national not-for-profit organization that supports people facing workplace challenges, through text. Our goal is to provide space for workers to express their emotions and ask powerful coaching questions to empower them to think through potential next steps. The workers we support are on their phones or computers; our Peer Counselors volunteer from their computers at home.

You’re passionate about helping others. You’re empathetic, You’re a great listener. You’re open to learning new skills. You’re willing to grow. You’re compassionate. You’re dedicated. You’re computer and tech savvy. You are seeking a volunteer opportunity that is remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world! You want to make a difference! Sound like you? Great! You’ll make an awesome volunteer Peer Counselor.
This application should take 20-30 minutes to complete, and you can expect to:
- Share basic information about yourself and your passion for helping others
- Learn about our service and what it means to be a volunteer Peer Counselor
- Review the requirements for becoming a volunteer Peer Counselor
We use Better Impact for a supported and engaged Volunteer experience. Getting started on the application is easy. If you are a new user, create your volunteer account [Left] or sign into your existing Better Impact account [Right].
