The GRADitude Project Volunteer Responsibilities and Expectations
We accept volunteer registration throughout the year.
GRADitude Project is a partnership with Youth Central and Trellis. By registering, you agree to share your information with both parties.
Age Restriction: Volunteers must be 21+ . Please do not register if you are under 21.
As a GRADitude Project Volunteer, I will:
- Complete all required paperwork before volunteering
- Participate in all necessary training and orientations
- Be punctual for shifts and inform Youth Central if unable to attend
- Not attend the event if feeling unwell and follow government guidelines for transmissible illnesses
- Be reliable, responsible, and ask questions if unsure about your role
- Complete assigned duties and assist with other tasks when needed.
- Respect and ensure the safety of students and volunteers and report any concerns promptly.
- Obtain consent before entering change rooms and providing physical assistance.
- Demonstrate professionalism and contribute to a positive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures below.
Policies and Procedures:
- Volunteers must demonstrate respect for individuals regardless of race, religious beliefs, color, gender, disability, health status, age, ancestry, marital status, source of income, family status, or sexual orientation.
- Interactions between volunteers and students should be in plain sight and a third person must be present. The types of physical contact between volunteers and students should be carefully considered and consent must be given by the student.
- Volunteers should not enter personal relationships with the students or interact with them on social media. Don't share personal information with students.
- Volunteers are not permitted to provide personal care to students, except for assistance with clothing related to the GRADitude Project.
- If a student's safety or well-being is at risk, notify a staff member immediately.
