Volunteer Policy
All volunteers, regardless of their position, are expected to:
- Commit to a minimum of 10 hours (typically 2-3 shifts) for the Opelika Songwriters Festival.
- Read and agree to the Role Description & Benefits for their assigned role(s).
- Be respectful and enthusiastic representatives of the Sound Wall Music Initiative and OSF.
- Wear their crew shirt and name tag while on shift and dress appropriate to the weather and setting.
- Provide a valid email address and cell phone number for volunteer communications.
- Use the MyImpact (Better Impact) scheduling software and install the MyImpact app on their cell.
- Agree to our Liability Waiver and Photo Release.
- Refrain from consuming alcohol or drugs prior to or during their shifts or at any time while in a CREW shirt.
- Either attend the Volunteer Check-In & Orientation Thursday of the Fest, 4-6 upstairs at Irish Bred Pub to get shirt and credentials or 30 minutes before the first assignment at the Volunteer Check-In Station. (This is not counted toward volunteer hours.)
- Remain at their assignment for the duration of the shift, refraining from phone use outside of festival communications.
- Refrain from bringing guests, children or pets with them to their shifts.
- Provide their own snacks and food money. (Note: SWMI will provide water and light snacks at the Volunteer Check-in Station).
- Maintain flexibility and a positive attitude should changes or challenges arise. (They likely will.)
- Give at least 48 hrs notice when emailing volunteers@theswmi.org to if you have to make a change to your shift in order to avoid losing volunteer status and associated benefits.
OSF admin reserve the right to dismiss any volunteer for inappropriate conduct.
