Confidentiality Statement, Media Release, and Volunteer Code of Conduct

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the Joan and Stanford Alexander Jewish Family Service. We are delighted that you are willing to share your talents and support to our clients and our work. All Alexander JFS volunteers must first agree to our Volunteer Policies. Confidentiality Statement and Media Release

I understand that all work performed by volunteers of Joan and Stanford Alexander Jewish Family Services with clients/donors or with their information is of a highly confidential nature and shall not be shared.

I understand and agree that in the performance of my duties as a volunteer of Alexander JFS, I must hold client information in confidence. This includes names, descriptions and other identifying information, or even the fact that a person is receiving services at Alexander JFS.

If I receive a request to provide or share information related to a client/donor, I will contact the staff supervisor of my project or the Volunteer Coordinator. I understand that disclosure of any client/donor's confidential information without appropriate permission and consent may result in corrective action or termination.

Volunteer contact information will be used for newsletters and other communications and volunteers understand that should they wish to opt out of newsletters they may do so my clicking "unsubscribe" at the bottom of the newsletter. (NOTE: This action will remove you from future volunteer communications that are sent out via our public email system.)

 

Alexander JFS Volunteer Code of Conduct

Thank you for agreeing to volunteer at Alexander JFS. Your time, passion, and energy are the heartbeat of our organization, and we truly cannot accomplish our mission without your dedication. We are honored to have you as part of our team. At Alexander JFS, our success is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and shared values. This code of conduct serves as a guide for how we work together, make decisions, and represent our organization.  By adhering to these principles, we ensure a safe, inclusive, and ethical environment where every team member is empowered to do their best work while upholding the high standards of integrity that define who we are. The Code of Conduct is intended to help provide a positive experience for all and applies to the duration of volunteer activities associated with Alexander JFS and Celebration Company.

As a volunteer, I agree to:

  1. Keep confidential all information that I may learn directly or indirectly concerning a client, staff member or volunteer.
  2. Support the mission and values of Alexander JFS.  Alexander JFS is a drug-free workplace.
  3. Treat all clients, volunteers, staff, donors, and community members with dignity, courtesy and respect.
  4. Act honestly, responsibly, and ethically while performing volunteer duties.
  5. Refrain from discrimination, harassment, bullying, or abusive behaviors of clients, staff or other volunteers.
  6. Obey all applicable local, state, and federal laws, while acting on behalf of Alexander JFS, including all laws and regulations that govern appropriate conduct in the workplace.
  7. Refrain from soliciting, selling, or collecting funds for any purpose while on volunteer time.
  8. Report concerns about safety, misconduct, or unethical behavior to the appropriate staff member.
  9. Contact a staff member of Alexander JFS or Celebration Company if I need professional support and intervention with my volunteer assignment.
  10. Accept training and supervision graciously.

Alexander JFS reserves the right to restrict or terminate access for individuals who violate the terms outlined in this code of conduct.
