Island Health Privacy Statement

Your personal information is collected by the Office of Experience at Island Health under the authority of section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act [FIPPA] for the purpose of managing and coordinating patient partner engagement activities with Island Health. This includes processing the expression of interest and matching patient partners to engagement activities.  Personal information submitted by patient partners will be saved and stored by the Patient & Public Partnership team.

When you submit an expression of interest for engagements, you are agreeing to share information from your profile with health care partners involved with that engagement. This information will be used for the purpose of matching patient partners to the engagement opportunity.

Distribution List

From time to time, the Patient & Public Partnership team may communicate with you by email to provide information about engagement activities, training opportunities and information related to your role as a patient partner at Island Health. By creating a Better Impact account, you are agreeing to receive information as described above. If you do not want to receive emails from the Patient & Public Partnership team, please contact us at: Patient.Experience@islandhealth.ca and we will remove you from the distribution list. 

Better Impact Privacy Statement

MyImpactPage is a web-based system managed by Island Health’s Patient & Public Partnership team and hosted by Better Impact. 

Island Health may communicate with you electronically through the MyImpactPage application. This functionality uses the third party services of Twillio to send emails to you. When this occurs your name, email address, IP address and the subject line of your email will be stored in the United States (US) for approximately 30 days. During this time, the information may be subject to US laws and regulations. Accordingly we will not include any Personal Information in the subject line of emails transmitted to you. For the greatest clarity, the content of emails or any of your personal information entered into MyImpactPage will be stored only within Canada. By creating an account, you are consenting to the storage of your name, email address, email subject line and IP address in the United States as described above.
