Orientation Volunteer Program


What is an Orientation Volunteer? 

Do you remember your first day at uni and how nervous (and excited!) you felt? Now’s your chance to be that friendly face who helps new students feel at home.

As an Orientation Volunteer you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for new students as they begin their university journey. Volunteers assist with event set-up and pack-down, provide guidance to help students navigate campus, and contribute to a positive first impression by being a friendly and approachable presence across Adelaide University city campuses (City West & City East)  

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student at Adelaide University 
  • Completed a minimum of 1 year at Adelaide University (inclusive of UniSA and UoA Study) 
  • Not currently enrolled in Adelaide University Online Program or Higher Degree research
  • Able to commit to 4 or more shifts between Semester 1 Orientation dates: February 9 - March 6 & Semester 2 Orientation dates: July 20- July 31, 2026
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse student cohorts and working in a team environment 

Reward & Recognition 

  • Launch party to get to know fellow volunteers
  • End of Orientation Celebrations (Semester 1 & Semester 2)
  • End of year thank you event 
  • Access to training
