Submitting the form will add you to the Oxford University Gardens, Libraries, and Museums (GLAM) Volunteer mailing list to hear about opportunities you can apply for. In order to submit the form, you will need to accept our Privacy Policy.
You will hear about new volunteering opportunities according to the General Interests you select. The Botanic Garden will not be recruiting any more gardening roles in 2025.
Volunteers must be at least 16. 'Young volunteers' (16- and 17-year-olds) can volunteer at most family friendly events. Eligibility for other activities and roles will depend upon the level and appropriateness of available supervision.
Some roles may require a DBS (safeguarding) check and/or evidence of Right to Volunteer in the UK. We will advise you of this when we recruit for these roles.
For onsite opportunities we anticipate volunteers will live within easy commuting distance of the site. Please be aware, Harcourt Arboretum is the only site with parking. For those travelling from outside of Oxford, public transport or the park and ride is the best option. Congestion charges will be applied from 29th October 2025 find out more here. Volunteers can claim travel reimbursement of up to £5 per session of volunteering.
